- The Fukuoka World Championships were postponed to July 2023. The Doha World Championships were therefore pushed to January 2024.
- Six days later, FINA announced that Budapest would be the host of an added, “extraordinary” World Championships in June 2022. Yes, this means three World Championships and an Olympic Games in two years.
