2024 World Cup Competitions Announced

World Aquatics has released the schedule for the 2024 World Aquatics Artistic Swimming World Cup circuit.

Just like last year, the World Cup circuit includes four stops: three regular meets and a Super Final. With the World Championships organized in February in Doha, the first World Cup event has understandably been scheduled a bit later in the season.

The circuit will start in China in April before returning to France in May and Canada in June. The Super Final is scheduled for July in Hungary, a month before the Olympic Games.

The 2024 World Cup schedule is as follow:

  • April 5 – 7: #1 in Beijing, China.
  • May 3 – 5: #2 in Paris, France.
  • May 31 – June 2: #3 in Markham, Canada.
  • July 5 – 7: Super Final in Budapest, Hungary.

A few months after the World Championships, the international season will continue in Beijing, a city which last hosted a World Series meet in 2019.

The next stop in Paris will undoubtedly be a very exciting one as it should be held in the brand new aquatics facility built for the 2024 Olympic Games. That World Cup leg will also serve as an Olympic test event to ensure the readiness of the newly-built infrastructure. It will also give a chance for the athletes and meet organizers to make sure everything runs smoothly, or to improve and make adjustments before the main event.

Markham will play the host once again this season for the third stop of the 2024 circuit. The Canadian city located near Toronto successfully held the first competition under the new scoring system in 2023.

The final stop will be in Budapest, a city well-experienced in hosting major aquatics events over the years. Scheduled only a month before the Olympic Games, this competition will likely be the final international one of the season for the athletes who will not have qualified to the Olympics.

Other World Aquatics events this season include the World Championships in Doha, Qatar, in February and, in theory, the World Junior Championships whose dates and location haven’t been announced yet.

Although not a World Aquatics event, the European Championships should also theoretically happen at some point in the season, but there are no further information at this time.

The 2024 competition calendar will be regularly updated here.
